Welcome to Bible Light Snack!
I am the Pastor of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline, Illinois. I have thirty plus years experience as a pastor/shepherd.
My passion and mission has been to develop a Bible Knowledge system for those who believe in Jesus Christ, but do not have any teaching or preaching responsibilities.
Pastors, ministers and church school teachers develop skill in the Bible, because they preach or teach all the time. However, the person with no scheduled class to teach or sermon to preach does not feel the same urgency to know the Bible at the level of the preacher/teacher. This lack of knowledge, in the Word of God, leaves them weak, vulnerable and ignorant of God’s way for their lives.
Light Snack was developed for the believers sitting in the pews. Those desiring to live for the glory of God, but falling way short in knowledge of the Word of God.
“Light Snack” is a colorful graphic presentation of the Sixty-Six Bible books. A Bible book and
one verse from each chapter is displayed on one page. We call the page a Chapter Map.
The Chapter Map can be compared to the map for a city. When you look at a city map, you see a one page layout of the city streets, highways and note of the major landmarks. These landmarks help you to find your way around the city. When you travel the city, you will observe the landmarks and discover many things not on the map. You do not memorize the landmarks, you see them over and over again.
We follow the same method with the Chapter Maps. The Bible book chapters are arranged on a path and represented by a landmark. Each landmark is a verse in the chapter that represents the Light Snack. The selected landmark verse does not mean it is a key verse or the most important verse in the chapter, all of the verses are important. Do not try to memorize the landmarks, you will see them over and over again as a picture in your mind.
The Light Snack chapters & verses are listed on the left side.
The chapters are the bold numbers and the verse is the handwritten number by the image.
Example: Genesis 1:3 Let there be light. The Bold 1 is the chapter & small 3 is the verse.
Genesis 9:13 The Rainbow. The Bold 9 is the chapter & the small 13 is the verse.
Job Note: Job’s three friends Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar. They spoke that which was not right about God (Job 42:7-10). They said some good things but were not right about God. Their chapters are shown off the path. Elihu was not rebuked by God; he is shown on the path.
The off the path chapters means (read with caution).
I have heard sermons preached from these off the path chapters by ministers unaware of their error.
Note: Psalm 105 and 106 Land of Ham
